Everyone thinks that the last few hours coming up to a wedding to be a hive of activity and managed chaos. In my experience though – and certainly the case with Amy and Karl – it’s often a time of calm and reflection, everything has been planned, put place, and the couple are usually just happy to just let the day unfold.
The ceremony and reception took place at the Tower House Hotel, near Halifax and guests were then treated to canapés in the hotel’s lounge – although they soon ventured outside as its was such a bright day.
Thankfully the weather was kind – as this gloriously sunny day was bookended with two days of rain and cloud. But I don’t think the weather could have dampened anyone’s spirits on this day.
The speeches we filled with laughter, tears, identity crisis, perfectly timed children’s comments and details of a proposal that could have ended completely differently.
As the evening guests arrived the cake was cut and the barbecue was lit, the disco was in full swing and guests were having a scream in the Photobooth.
My sincere congratulations Amy and Karl, it was an absolute pleasure to photograph your day and I wish you every happiness in the future.
